Swimming, swinging and science

This pretty much sums up the last couple days (48 & 49 of 70 for anyone counting along at home). After a couple of small and minor scares at the pool, H#2 finally decided to try swimming lessons again. It’s always amazing to me how quickly swimming skills can set in. It’s like potty training — one day they’re not, the next day they are.

The last two pictures show what happens when I need a few minutes to catch up on other stuff.

Mommy, can we do some science?

“We love science. Can we do some experiments?”

“What kind?”

“Like add food coloring to water and see what happens?”

“Sure, have fun. And be careful.”

After four bottles of food coloring, several tablespoons of mustard, squirts of soy sauce, washable paint and who knows what else, the experiment ended with this green murky water with some bark floating on top and colorful sediment in the bottom. And I got my stuff done.

Run run Rudolph! Almost time for the #reindeerrun! I'm thinking after my mood this week, perhaps I should try this. #calm #magnesium #doesthisreallywork How excited do you think these kids are getting ready to be at pickup? #snow #ChathamNC #ncweather #ncwx One of my favorite holiday traditions is to shoot down mistletoe, but this year the kids are taking it to a whole new level! #Christmas #tradition #holidays #crafts #mistletoe
