This morning was the last day of British Soccer Camp, which means one thing — World Cup. H#1 was part of the Hungarian team (which makes the pictures from the other day make a little more sense) and the whole family was in appropriate colors to cheer them on. Competition was fierce, the sun was hot, but with temperatures in the low 80s, it was the perfect summer day to be outside.
The World Cup champion is determined by many things, apparently. Not just wins and losses, but fun stuff through the week that the coaches give points for, like wackiest hair, correct answers to trivia, biggest and smallest flag and sometimes just general effort. It’s a great camp, H#1 had an awesome time and is already talking about doing the full-day camp next year, though she’s a bit worried how H#2 will cope if she decides to do that.
In the end, H#1 got recognition for being one of the MVPs for “the way she tried and gave a great effort.”
Hungary was declared the World Cup winner.
The brothers were thrilled.
I’m not sure if H#1’s feet have touched the ground yet.
If your kid likes soccer, I highly recommend it.
Soccer with a British accent (and others). Pretty cool.
Then to top it all off, The Husband came home with some unexpected new toys from a very thoughtful friend he works with and the Hatchlings’ big cousin came over for a visit. Imaginext, anyone?
Needless to say, bedtime was an afterthought tonight.
