Witch Stew

All the rain we’ve gotten during our first week of 70 Days of Summer has left some nice puddles in the driveway. Our morning was spent outside practicing our new sport of tennis, but it didn’t take long before we ended up next to a couple of the puddles.
The Hatchlings were busy stirring with their sticks, adding rocks and swirling everything together. “Look, Mommy! Witch stew!” the older two called to me.
H#3 walked up to offer me his little meaty paws and told me, “Mommy, I help!”
I turned around and heard a kerplunk behind me, and when I turned back I saw H#3 standing laces high in one of the puddles with a huge grin on his face. His brother and sister laughed with joy at this silly little boy they call their little brother. And then that silly little brother stepped out and did it again. And again. Until his white socks were as gray as the gravel in the witch stew.
[…] Well, you can just plop yourself down in a puddle. […]
