Last night, sleep was all but forgotten when those first precious flakes started to fall. H#3 was sound asleep, but the older two were downstairs in a flash. If I could only bottle that speed for when we actually need to go somewhere. Like school mornings.
They played in the snow for a good hour or so, then came inside, hands red, tingling and numb, and drank hot cocoa with marshmallows. They barely made it into bed they were so tired. Thank goodness today was a scheduled teacher work day.
This morning was just as priceless, though I was glad they got to play last night as there was considerably less snow this morning. The Hatchlings dashed downstairs, barely ate and rushed into their snow suits and did this.
I’d say that makes today a good day. Even with our 1-3 inches of snow becoming a mere dusting, the marathon timeout session with H#3 who won’t quit throwing things, a sad crying jag from H#1 because all the snow is going to melt today, accusations from H#2 that I never play with him, and me not having enough coffee.
