Welcome Constraction
2October 17, 2012 by themommahen
When Hatchling #2 wants to help me with H#3, he sometimes causes a “constraction” so that H#3 will let me do whatever it is that needs to be done, like change a diaper or wash his hair. Constractions are good.
That’s basically what this post is. A constraction from the obvious follow-up post to my announcement that I was expecting #4. Since then, I’ve had a miscarriage, a d&c, a trip to the ER in the middle of the night and all the stuff that comes with all that.
But there is time for me to write about that. And I will. But for now allow me to share one of the sweetest constractions I’ve had, courtesy of H#1 & 2.
H#2: Mommy, I don’t understand why Jake and the other pirates are all alone. They don’t even have Mommies.
H#1: Captain Hook and his friends have Mommies, but they sailed a long way away from their Mommies.
H#2: I don’t understand that. I’ll never do that Mommy. I’ll never sail far far away from you. I’ll never leave you. I promise.
H#1: Me either!
Oh how I know I should tell them to never say never and keep their options open and be brave and explore the world, but today I just want to tell them I’m going to hold them to their word and never ever let them go. So I just smile and tell them I love them. So much.
That is a beautiful constraction. I’m glad you have those three hatchlings to beam your love at and focus, when possible, on your blessings. I am so, so sorry for your loss. Much love coming atcha…
xoxo
