Inside Looking Out

It’s naptime here and all three hatchlings are home today since H#1 is home sick again, this time with some new mysterious illness complete with fever, runny eyes, cough, and just your run-of-the-mill crumminess that comes with either the hayfever or colds that Mother Nature seems to like at this time of year. As I was walking from one room to the next, trying to get everyone settled in for nap/rest time, I kept stopping to look out the window at the explosion of green that has erupted over the last two weeks.

This time of year never ceases to amaze me with the newness of life beginning. Everything is either bursting

or blooming

or blossoming. Reminding me that time doesn’t stop, life goes on, children grow up, and I better stop and admire it, even if it’s just to soak in the green glow through the window on a beautiful day.

So I do.

Walking in the snow So beautiful. But please let the power stay on. Morning chicken duty is always more fun when snow is falling. A little cold today. #brrr #beach I'm gonna Momma Hen you all for a minute with a gentle reminder that giving kids access to social media accounts -- whether theirs or yours, whether they're "old enough" or not -- without any guidance or oversight is not so different from letting your kid drive a car on the highway without any training. The damage may not be physical, and with a little luck there wont be any damage at all, but...images seen cannot be unseen, words said cannot be unsaid, things heard cannot be unheard.

https://themommahen.com/2018/01/10/kids-and-social-media-who-knows-what-theyre-seeing/ Birthdays are meant to be celebrated, even when it's back to school after an extended break. #12
