The Hatchlings have fully embraced The Husband’s love of Halloween. We even already have our costumes. Well, I don’t, but that’s typical, right? H#2 decided he’d be a Superhero while H#1 decided any Disney princess would be fine with her, and both loyally wore their costumes for four days straight after we got them. H#3 looked at us strangely when we put his little pirate costume on him but he seems game enough.

Then the inevitable change of heart for the 4yo set in, and he decided he’d be an elephant. Oh, excuse me, a red elephant. And with that, I abandoned thoughts of an easy Halloween with “boughten” costumes and set out to make a red elephant costume. Which, by the way, H#2 has been about as interested in my making it as watching paint dry. He keeps asking if it’s ready yet, but if I dare ask him to try something on? Fuhgeddaboutit.

We’ll see if he wears it. But at least we know I can follow directions.
